Can You Hear Me Now? Make Your Voice Heard

Over the past few months I've had many interesting conversations with countless people about RESPA and other regulatory changes that are coming about.  But often when it comes time to step to a microphone, telephone, or keyboard many become shy or feel unqualified to share their opinions.  Is that you?  Do you have strong opinions or earnest questions about these changes, but only share them within the confines of your own office?  If so, I need to ask you a very important question... what exactly are you waiting for?

Do you think there is someone else who understands your business better than you?  I promise you that your questions and concerns, the issues you face and the challenges you foresee are right on the money.  If reform of some sort is inevitable, have you taken the next step and engaged others in discussions?  If you are an owner or manager, have you asked your production people how they will need to work differently?  If you are a trainer or IT professional, have you approached managers and owners regarding a plan for converting your office to comply with RESPA and other changes?  What conversations have you had with customers who may need new products and services from you?  Have you discussed ways to update your communication methods with other parties involved in a transaction?  Are you waiting for them to tell you what they need?  How long do you think your competitors will wait to engage?  And what do you have to lose by leading on this issue?

Involvement, in my opinion, is the best course to take.  In coming days we will discuss more ways for you to become involved in facilitating change ... whether you are for or against RESPA Reform implementation.  We will outline steps you can take to make your opinions heard to lawmakers - while at the same time reading your business so you aren't caught scrambling at the 11th hour.
