Live From Washington DC!

What an exciting week! As a member of ALTA’s RESPA Task Force, I am blogging live today from Washington, D.C. where the Task Force is just a few moments away from initial meeting with HUD. At this meeting we will present an extensive group of questions that we have compiled over the last several months with regard to the new RESPA regulation. Also, the Task Force is anticipating activity in the House today that we think will be favorable to the settlement services industry. And this afternoon we have a meeting with MBA to discuss how lenders and title and settlement agents can work together and how current business practices will need to change to help ensure a successful migration to the new RESPA standards. I am looking forward to a productive workday in D.C. and will share more from these meetings with you over the next several days.
