Why RESPAready.com?
I’ve been around people in the real estate settlement industry for a long time. In fact, it is starting to add up to more years than I prefer to count! So it’s not without personal experience (I don’t dare admit to it being my own trait) that I suspect some of you are wondering when the other shoe will drop with respect to this site. You’re likely out there thinking “when does the pitch to sell me something come?” Don’t worry, it doesn’t. It won’t.
This is a site dedicated wholly to education, community and collaboration. When sweeping change comes such as RESPA Reform, it impacts multiple industries. In an instance such as this, it is impossible to succeed merely as an individual company, or as an individual professional. Rather success will be realized by all of us adapting and succeeding together. True success only comes when we are working in concert with one another.
I love reading Ken Blanchard’s books and am currently enjoying his Leading At A Higher Level. In it he defines leadership as the capacity to influence others by unleashing their power and potential to impact the greater good. THAT is the reason we strive to provide leadership on the issue of RESPA Reform! Notice that his definition of leadership doesn’t have anything to do with affirming the value of the leader? A good leader creates an environment where the power of others is unleashed to impact the greater good. THAT is the value of respaready.com. You do have the power to shape your market and your business practices in a way that makes RESPA compliance a Win/Win/Win for your business, your customers and the consumer.
