Fall Brings All RESPA - All The Time

It's been a whirlwind couple of weeks in RESPA education world.  RESPA was on the minds of Ohio Land Title Association and Indiana Land Title Association members through their annual conferences last week.  This week brought two full days of RESPA training at the RamQuest User Group Conference - RESPA Fall Worksession.

On The Road Teaching RESPA Reform

RESPA Reform is certainly the topic on title and settlement agents' minds as they gather at their State Land Title Association Conventions.  I'm just back from the Ohio Land Title Association's Centennial Celebration and Annual Meeting, where RESPA was the single most talked about issue among Ohio agents.  As I led the group through the fundamentals of RESPA Reform and what it meant for their business, we focused on operational issues and successful implementation.  I shared with them a check-list of RESPA Ready action items, and wanted to share it here with you, to

We've talked here a few times about the CFPA, and while we haven't focused on it in depth (afterall, we're trying to become RESPA Ready) ... we know that this is on a fast track in Washington and has the potential to change ... well, everything.  This one is big folks, and the time to act is now.  Of course, we won't tell you what to think about it.  But we will tell you that if you aren't familiar with it, you need to be.  And if you're at all opposed to it, the time to act is NOW.
